Krav Maga (Hebrew: קְרַב מַגָּע, lit. "contact-combat") is a practical and efficient self-defense system developed initially, by Imi [Info About Imi] to allow civilians the ability to stand up to fascist bullies in Europe and then adapted and refined for use by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Now used by civilians, police, regular and special forces militaries around the world, the system consists of a combination of the best techniques sourced from Aikido, Judo, Muay Thai, Boxing, Savate, wrestling and street fighting.
Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extreme efficiency and brutal counter-attacks, but it is not about power or physical strength, it’s about (learned skills) speed and leverage and it’s about the element of surprise. It’s not about being a great athlete or even being athletic at all, it’s a system designed to help people walk with some peace of mind knowing they are more alert and sensitive to their surroundings.
Adults, Teens and Kids- You can learn to defend yourself, no matter your physical size or abilities.
Elite Krav Maga encourages students to avoid confrontation, if at all possible. If it is not, we promote finishing a fight as quickly as possible, with an emphasis on threat neutralization, simultaneous defensive and offensive maneuvers and aggression.
You will learn to defend against all variety of attacks and will be taught to counter in the quickest and most efficient way.
At Elite Krav Maga, you will learn:
- how to turn your natural reactions into self-defense techniques to end an altercation,
- how to escape from holds, chokes and various grabs along with how to survive altercations vs. an edged weapon, a blunt object, or attacks which may involve an armed attacker,
- how to deal with multiple attackers whether standing or taken to the ground,
- Counterattacking as soon as possible,
- Targeting attacks to the body's most vulnerable points, such as: the eyes, neck or throat, face, solar plexus, groin, ribs, knee, foot, fingers, liver, etc…,
- Maximum effectiveness and efficiency in order to neutralize the opponent as quickly as possible,
- Simultaneous attack and defense maneuvers,
- Situational Awareness - Maintaining awareness of surroundings while dealing with a threat in order to look for escape routes, further attackers, objects that could be used to defend or help attack, and so on.
